Our Attorneys - Gerald R. Salerno


Mr. Salerno was born in New York, on June 10, 1960. He was admitted to the bar in 1985, New Jersey and U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey; U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit.


Mr. Salerno received his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University (B.A., magna cum laude) in 1982. He obtained his law degree from Georgetown University (J.D.) in 1985. He served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Charles R. DiGisi, Bergen County Superior Court, from 1985 to 1986.


Mr. Salerno is a partner with the firm.  He has been repeatedly selected by his peers as a New Jersey Super Lawyer in the area of Civil Litigation. This distinction based upon ethics, experience and reputation is bestowed upon the top 5% of attorneys in the State.  Mr. Salerno has also been named as a Best Lawyer in America for 2014.  He was also awarded the Bergen County Legal Services Pro Bono Award.


The New Jersey Supreme Court appointed Mr. Salerno to the Committee on Character in 2008. He has served as Prosecutor for the Borough of Wood-Ridge, as well as for the Borough of Oradell. He has been the acting Public Defender for the Borough of Montvale since 1989 and served as the Zoning Board of Adjustment Attorney for the Borough of Upper Saddle River from 2000. In addition, he has represented the Borough of Lodi as Special Planning Board Counsel in complex zoning and redevelopment matters.


Mr. Salerno is a past President of the Bergen County Bar Association. He also served as a Co-Chairman, Municipal Court Practice Committee, New Jersey State and American Bar Associations. He is also a member of The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, and the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association.
